One of Atlanta's most anticipated new restaurants is about to open.
Shake Shack, a modern burger stand out of New York City, says it's set to open its first Atlanta location on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 11 a.m.
The two-story restaurant is located in the Buckhead Atlanta mixed-use project, which just started opening its first stores.
Shake Shack is part of Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG). The first location opened in 2004.
The new Buckhead restaurant will feature some locally-themed items, such as Pecan Pie Oh My (vanilla frozen custard blended with a slice of pecan pie from H&F Bread Co.) and Campfire S’mores (chocolate frozen custard blended with marshmallow sauce, graham crackers and dark chocolate chunks from Cacao Atlanta Chocolate Co.).
There's also a "creamy caramel peach" milkshake called the Peachtree.
“With our deep culinary roots through USHG, over the years we’ve loved tasting and watching the incredible dining scene develop in Atlanta,” Randy Garutti, Shake Shack CEO, said in an annoucement. “Buckhead is such an exciting area of the city, and we hope this Shack will become a true community gathering spot. We look forward to having locals and visitors alike join us for a ShackBurger on our expansive rooftop dining terrace.”
